Furniture Seminar

Site Location: UIUC Fabrication Workshop

Year: 2019

The seminar is for experiencing the characteristic of wooden structure, grain, joinery and transfer these techniques into the smaller scale of architectural representation: furniture. In order to keep the unique grain on the top, the slab was cut at the half and filliped to retain the rectangular edges. In addition, the river-like epoxy resin at the middle gap was pour not only for the light penetration, but also for the appearance of the rough edge of wooden slab.

Material selection: walnut slab
