The Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra’s (WYSO) new 40,085-square-foot facility is a cultural landmark in Madison, designed with inspiration from musical instruments. The building features curved roofs that resemble a cello, gardens that reflect the shapes of a bell and trumpet, and ceilings that are designed to echo sound waves. Additionally, copper elements throughout the structure are reminiscent of a timpani drum, and sound specialists have ensured optimal acoustic isolation throughout the space.
